Endorsed Candidate Liaison
Reports To: State & Candidate Support Director
Location: Fully remote / virtual
Time Commitment: 8–12 hours per week (flexible schedule focused on relationship management and coordination)
Term: One-year renewable volunteer commitment
Position Summary
The Endorsed Candidate Liaison serves as the dedicated point of contact for candidates who have received the Party’s official endorsement.
This role facilitates meaningful interactions between endorsed candidates and the National Committee’s appointees (national officers, key staff, and strategic advisors). It also provides direct support and training to candidates to contribute to their successful campaigns. The goal is to ensure endorsed candidates receive strategic connections, and ongoing support as they advance their campaigns.
Key Responsibilities
Ongoing Support & Guidance
Connect candidates with specialized national support (campaign training, messaging guidance, legal/compliance resources, etc.) when appropriate.
Connect candidates with potential campaign volunteers to assist with phone banking, door-to-door campaigning, graphic design, and other technical assistance.
Provide timely updates on national developments, endorsements, or resources that may benefit endorsed candidates.
Networking & Relationship Building
Facilitate connections between endorsed candidates and key party stakeholders, potential donors, endorsers, media outlets, and strategic partners.
Assist state parties in their support and coordination of campaigns.
Organize or support virtual and in-person networking opportunities for endorsed candidates (roundtables, webinars, receptions, etc.).
Help endorsed candidates build relationships with each other for peer support and collaboration across districts or states.
Resource Development & Training
Create and maintain toolkits, guides, videos and training materials tailored to candidates running for office (event planning, securing endorsements, debate inclusion, social media, etc.).
Work closely with the Campaign Archivist to connect candidates with best practices.
Organize regular virtual training sessions, workshops, and peer-learning opportunities for candidates.
Ensure all candidate materials align with party branding and messaging.
Tracking, Reporting & Coordination
Maintain accurate, confidential records of all endorsed candidate interactions with national appointees and key stakeholders.
Provide regular reports to the State & Candidate Support Director on engagement levels, key connections made, and emerging needs.
Collaborate closely with the Potential Candidate Liaison and other candidate support team members to ensure smooth transitions from endorsement to active campaign support.
Event & Opportunity Support
Assist with logistics and candidate participation in national events, conventions, or high-profile opportunities.
Research and maintain list of local events candidates may participate in their area.
Identify and promote strategic networking or visibility opportunities for endorsed candidates.
Qualifications
Required
Strong commitment to the party’s platform & principles.
Exceptional interpersonal, networking, and relationship-management skills.
Professional demeanor with excellent written and verbal communication abilities.
High level of discretion and ability to handle confidential and politically sensitive information.
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail for tracking multiple relationships and requests.
Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with national staff and candidates.
Preferred
Prior experience in political networking, fundraising, event coordination, or candidate support.
Experience using a CRM or contact management systems.
Background in campaign management, political consulting, or high-level volunteer coordination.
