Student Affiliate Coordinator
Reports To: State & Candidate Support Director
Location: Fully remote / virtual
Time Commitment: 5–10 hours per week (flexible schedule with occasional evening calls for student groups across time zones)
Term: One-year renewable volunteer commitment
Position Summary
The Student Affiliate Coordinator leads the American Solidarity Party’s efforts to build and support active student groups on high school, college and university campuses across the country.
This role recruits, trains, and empowers student leaders, helps establish new campus affiliates, and ensures that student members have the resources, guidance, and national support they need to organize effectively. By strengthening the party’s presence on campuses, the Student Affiliate Coordinator helps develop the next generation of leaders and expands the party’s reach among young voters and activists.
Key Responsibilities
Student Group Development & Recruitment
Identify colleges and universities with strong potential for student affiliates and lead outreach to recruit new groups and leaders.
Guide interested students through the process of forming official American Solidarity Party student affiliates.
Provide onboarding, training, and ongoing support to student chapter leaders and members.
Resource Development & Training
Create and maintain toolkits, guides, and training materials tailored to campus organizing (event planning, ballot access drives, debate hosting, social media, etc.).
Organize regular virtual training sessions, workshops, and peer-learning opportunities for student affiliates.
Identify best practices and successful campus models to share across the network.
Ensure all student materials align with party branding and messaging.
National Coordination & Support
Serve as the primary liaison between student affiliates and the National Committee, state chapters and other party leaders.
With the State & Candidate Support Director, develop the process for recognizing official student affiliates.
Coordinate national student initiatives such as ballot access petition drives, issue campaigns, or student-focused events.
Help connect student groups with endorsed candidates, state chapter leadership, and allied organizations for joint activities.
Event & Campaign Support
Assist student affiliates with planning and promoting campus events, speaker series, debates, and activism projects.
Provide guidance on logistics, promotion, and compliance for campus activities.
Encourage and support student participation in national party events and campaigns.
Engagement Tracking & Reporting
Maintain accurate records of active student affiliates, membership numbers, and key activities.
Provide regular reports to the State & Candidate Support Director on student engagement, growth, challenges, and successes.
Community Building
Foster a strong sense of community among student members through regular communication, recognition of achievements, and peer networking opportunities.
Help student affiliates connect with each other for collaboration and mutual support.
Qualifications
Required
Strong commitment to the American Solidarity Party’s platform and principles, with particular passion for engaging young people.
Excellent communication, organizational, and relationship-building skills.
Experience working with students, youth groups, campus organizations, or volunteer teams.
Ability to work independently while coordinating with multiple student groups across different campuses.
Comfortable with virtual meetings, email communication, and basic digital tools.
Preferred
Prior experience in student organizing, campus activism, or youth political engagement.
Experience leading or advising a student organization
Background in training, curriculum development, or volunteer management is a plus.
