Campaign Website

Aurora Verkamp is a wife and homeschooling mother of four. A Hendricks County native, she attended Pittsboro Elementary and Tri-West, though ultimately graduated from the Indiana Academy for Science, Math, and Humanities. Although she moved away for college, she returned to raise her children near her family. She attends St. Malachy and volunteers as a member of the choir, the Altar Society, and youth ministry. She uses a Charlotte Mason based curriculum for her children, which emphasizes respect for children as whole, capable people from their first moments. A lover of ideas, her campaign is inspired by the work of Katy Bowman, Strong Towns, and the American Solidarity Party. Although her children do not attend Brownsburg Community Schools, she believes a strong school system is the foundation of a strong community and should be a priority for every Brownsburg citizen. A philosophy of home education involves lifelong learning, and she looks forward to learning more about the Brownsburg school system from community members and through the Vision BCSC program.

American Solidarity Party

We are a party that seeks the common good, on common ground, through common sense. We believe in the sanctity of human life, the necessity of social justice, our responsibility to care for the environment, and promotion of a more peaceful world. We cherish the individual rights and separation of government powers protected by the U.S. Constitution, and recognize the need for social supports and community cohesion. We seek to bridge the bitter partisan divide with principled and respectful policies and dialog.
