Duane Loynes

California Gubernatorial Candidate

(June 2, 2026)

Duane Loynes Jr.’s campaign is rooted in a philosophy he describes as “politics with a mind and heart.” A recent graduate of Loyola Marymount University, where he earned a B.A. in Screenwriting with a minor in Asian Studies, Duane brings a fresh voice to politics centered on human dignity, family stability, economic justice, and community solidarity.

At the core of Duane’s vision is the belief that every person possesses inherent worth at every stage of life. His platform advocates for policies that protect vulnerable people while building stronger support systems for families, workers, and local communities. He argues that a just society must not only defend life, but also ensure that mothers, children, workers, and struggling families receive meaningful support through healthcare access, fair wages, affordable housing, and community-based care.

Duane’s approach is heavily influenced by the principles of solidarity and subsidiarity (the idea that problems should be addressed at the most local and human level possible before larger institutions intervene). He believes families should be empowered as the primary support system in society, especially when addressing homelessness, mental illness, and poverty. His proposals include expanded mental health outreach, mobile care for the unhoused, family reunification programs, and financial support for relatives caring for vulnerable loved ones.

On housing, Duane emphasizes policies designed to make homeownership attainable for working families. He supports discouraging corporate accumulation of single-family homes, incentivizing first-time homeownership, and reforming zoning and tax policies to encourage family-oriented housing development.

Economically, Duane advocates for a system that serves the whole person rather than reducing people to economic outputs. He supports worker protections, fair pay, and policies that allow individuals to pursue meaningful lives beyond work. His campaign also emphasizes humane immigration policies that pair secure borders with compassion, legal pathways, and respect for the dignity of immigrants.

Supporters describe Duane as energetic, principled, and deeply committed to the values of the American Solidarity Party. His campaign seeks to offer Californians an alternative to partisan politics by focusing on policies that strengthen families, protect human dignity, and rebuild a sense of common good.

American Solidarity Party

We are a party that seeks the common good, on common ground, through common sense. We believe in the sanctity of human life, the necessity of social justice, our responsibility to care for the environment, and promotion of a more peaceful world. We cherish the individual rights and separation of government powers protected by the U.S. Constitution, and recognize the need for social supports and community cohesion. We seek to bridge the bitter partisan divide with principled and respectful policies and dialog.
